To our potential investors

Plastic recycling

  • For material recycling, we are working together with partner companies to recycle waste plastic generated by private companies and municipalities.

  • iCEP PLASTICS was also launched to provide a total coordination service from collection of plastic waste to recycling to end products as well as digitizing the recycling process.

    iCEP PLASTICS(in Japanese only)
  • We will continue to promote resource recycling by utilizing our track record of working with municipalities as well as our facilities and capacity.

Public-private partnerships (PPP)

  • Even though we are pursuing material recycling of plastic waste, there is some waste plastic left that can only be incinerated, such as waste from hospitals.

  • To reduce the greenhouse gas emission from incineration facilities in the future, we need to build large-scale facilities to process waste efficiently, using less energy.

  • That’s true, but many processing facilities in Japan are small at present.
Daiei Kankyo believes the main reason is that general waste and industrial waste are processed separately.

  • On top of that, municipalities are finding it harder to secure the financial resources due to a decline in population, and are needing to reduce the cost burden of waste management. This is why we are striving to form public private partnerships (PPP) for the efficient and integrated treatment of general waste and industry waste.

  • 地域循環共生圏
  • Daiei Kankyo provides the funds to build large-scale facilities on the behalf of the municipalities that have signed a PPP agreement with us.

  • The resources and energy generated from integrated treatment of general waste and industrial waste are efficiently returned to the local community.

  • We are aiming to build Local Circular Ecological Spheres through such initiatives.

  • A Local Circular Ecological Sphere can play various roles in a local community.

Enhancement of incineration and
other heat treatment facilities
/final disposal sites

  • To reduce greenhouse gas emissions at final disposal sites, we need to reduce the amount of organic waste for landfill such as food waste. For that reason, Daiei Kankyo aims to reduce the amount of organic waste for landfill to zero by 2030.

  • We must expand and improve incineration and other heat treatment facilities to achieve that. However, there will still be waste that can only be managed in final disposal sites even if we reduce organic waste landfill to zero.

  • The final disposal sites in Japan are said to have around 20 years of remaining capacity, and we need to secure final disposal sites. We are therefore utilizing the expertise we have developed to expand final disposal sites.
